Took a quick break from painting guides and transfers to finish another unit for my Raptors – Eliminators from Shadowspear! These guys have been on my desk for a while so it feels good to finally get them done. My hat’s off to the miniature designers – once again these are fantastic space marine models…

First completed model of 2020 – a Phobos Lieutenant for my Raptors army. This is another model from the Shadowspear box that I’m slowly (but happily!) working my way through. I did a very minor conversion to swap the head with the captain from the same box.

Cerrin has been waiting to be painted for quite a while (see original post here)… The base model is the event exclusive lieutenant and the conversion was inspired by the awesome kitbash by k03rnl. The cloak was sculpted for me by Dawn Crusade.

FINALLY finished the first complete unit from my Shadowspear box. It took longer than usual because I stopped after each step to photograph one of these guys for a painting guide, which will be coming soon…

Lieutenant Cerrin of the Raptors 2nd Company. This conversion was *ahem* ‘inspired’ by the awesome kitbash by k03rnl and the cloak was made by the Master of Cloaks, Dawn Crusade. Check out their work on Instagram.

This is one of those projects I’ve dipped in and out of. Coming back to add a bit here and there, building the weathering up in layers. It’s been a lot of fun and I’m happy with the final result!

Second squad of Reivers – again in a darker, more muted scheme than my other Raptors. I got closer to what I was looking for this time by using a black wash as well as a green.

My take on the 500th store exclusive Lieutenant. Just an arm swap to give him a power sword, and a buzz cut 😉

The Space Wolves guide is coming, soon, I promise! But I needed to finish up another five of these guys making 10 in total so far. They’re so good on the table I wouldn’t mind another.

First squad of Reivers done. As these are the special ops of the force, I gave them a slightly darker, more muted colour to their armour.

Picked up this model at Games Workshop Oxford yesterday and did a simple conversion to give him a power sword. My thinking is that he’s removed the top of his helmet so that the optics don’t interfere with his vision during a dual he’s about to fight 😉

This is a commission piece for follower of the blog who reached out to me wanting a Raptors Dreadnought to join his all-Dread army. I rarely take commissions but this sounded like a cool project so this Brother will be honoured to join the ranks and represent the Raptors in his force!

It’s been a while since I posted but I’ve not been idle – far from it in fact! I’m working on several projects, some of which have required stripping and repainting several times. More on that later, but meantime I’ve been chipping away at Lieutenant Runnik, who was started probably over a year ago and…
