I’m ALIVE!

Wow, it’s been a long time since I posted! It’s not that I haven’t been hobbying, more that I’ve been preparing things in secret for a little friendly tournament some friends and I partake in when we have the time. Now all our lists are revealed I can in turn reveal what I’ve been working on:

  • Dante (pin up boy of the latest Codex)
  • Some tactical marines (heavy flamers, sergeants with magnetized weapons, missile launchers and some basic bolter guys)
  • Jump packs for my last 5-man squad of Death Company
  • A new 5-man squad of Death Company with magnetized packs
  • A Razorback with lascannon
  • A Vindicator
  • Sicaran Battle Tank
  • Deredeo Dreadnought
  • Stormraven (won’t actually be used in the tournie, just kicking around waiting to be finished)

A few other things not pictured also in the queue… Space Hulk termies, couple of Sanguinary Guard, some Ork stuff – oh and an Imperial Knight 😉

  1. Thanks Gillespie!

They are done in a similar way but I’ve started using Model Air paint instead of primer for the pre shading / highlighting as it’s thinner and gives a brighter result on the highlights:

    1) Prime Vallejo German Red Brown
    2) Shade Vallejo Model Air Black
    3) Highlight Vallejo Model Air White
    4) Model Air Yellow all over (this over white is much brighter than the Dark Yellow primer I used to use and therefore gives more contrast to the model)
    5) Model Air Red RLM23 all over

  2. I have some spare test models I’m going to try your process out on. I usually just primed with the Vallejo polyurethane brown red, highlighted with citadel’s new blood red and then did some highlighting with a brush.

Do you have any WIP shots of your process with infantry?

  4. Hi there, I am away from home at the moment but will check when I get home if I have any WIP shots and upload them if so. I definitely have some of the Sicaran…

  5. Any luck on WIP infantry photos? trying my hand at painting blood angels in your style and the drop pod WIP post was gold for me!

  6. Hi Kmckinney, I’m glad you found the Drop Pod tutorial useful. Alas I’ve been very busy with RL for the last few weeks and have hardly had time to pick up a brush at all! But I will be sure to take step by step pics as soon as I work on the infantry again and post another tutorial.
